Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute building and renovation projects from start to finish, adhering to plans and specifications.
  • Perform carpentry, framing, roofing, and other building tasks as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues promptly and efficiently.

Must Have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the building industry.
  • Trade qualification or relevant certification in building or construction.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Permanent resident of New Zealand.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent carpentry and general building skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Should Have:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.

Could Have:

  • Potential to lead and supervise a team of junior builders or apprentices.
  • Familiarity with construction management software or tools.
  • Expertise in specific building techniques or materials.
